Olympic Games/ Summer, 1952-56/ Helsinki/Melbourne/ Zato/ Mimoun/ Set (books, pennant) around the kings of athletics in the 1950s, the two friends, Emil and Alain: a) Book: "Zatopek in photographs" by Frantizek Kozik, 1954, 72 pages of text, 100 sepia photos, 28 x 21 cm, dedications, introduction by Emil, himself, Very good condition; b) Book: "La Xvè Olympiade" by Benigno Cacerès, Ed. Seuil, 96 p, 1953, 22.5 x 18 cm. This little book is the key-book of these great Games, with lively, real-life texts featuring the triple jumper Da Silva, Luxembourg's Barthel, hero of the 1500m, and the American basketball players who beat the Soviets 36-25. With a dedication from 1955, referring to the absence of pike fishing, or a certain Zato, with his ferocious three gold medals, and his drawl, somewhat resembled the aquatic bug; c) Triangular Czech plastic pennant with large red star. "Ruda Hvëzde CSSR". With pen signature of the two great champions and friends, Emil Zatopek and Alain Mimoun, winners of the 1952 and 1956 Olympic marathons. 40 x 23 cm. Very good condition. With support rings and ribbon.
