Madame de LA VRILLIERE DE PLÉLO. Louise-Françoise Phélypeaux - Lot 130
Madame de LA VRILLIERE DE PLÉLO. Louise-Françoise Phélypeaux de La Vrillière (1707-1737), Comtessede Bréhan de Plélo, was a lady of the court of Louis XV. She was the daughter of Louis II Phélypeaux, Marquis de La Vrillière, Secretary of State to Louis XV and advisor to the King in all his councils, and Françoise de Mailly, dame d'atours to Queen Marie Leczinska. She is the sister of Louis Phélypeaux de Saint-Florentin, Minister and Secretary of State, and the sister-in-law of Jean Frédéric Phélypeaux de Maurepas, Minister of State and Secretary of State. At the age of 14, on May 21, 1722, she married Louis de Bréhan, Comte de Plélo, French Ambassador to Denmark, who died on May 27, 1734 while commanding an assault to liberate Danzig - Letter A.S. "La Vrillière de Plélo" written in Paris on January 12, 1729. 2 pages in-8°, probably addressed to Queen Marie LESZCZYNSKA, then pregnant with twins (she will give birth on August 14). She thanks her correspondent for the attention she has received, and wishes for "the happy completion of the affairs of the princes and princesses your children" (childbirth), "the honor of belonging to them is too sensitive for me not to take an interest in what concerns them."
