RIO DE JANEIRO, May 19, 1824. Autograph letter signed GAREY, from Brazil, to his Uncle CASAMAYOR REY, in SAINTE MARIE OLORON Basses Pyrénées. 3pp in-4° - He is happy in his new establishment. "You had occasion to see in the French Gazettes that Brazil was not tranquil... Up to this day, this Capital has enjoyed the most perfect tranquility. Certain provinces are not entirely resolved to follow the imperial system, but they are all united under the same banner, which gives us hope that they will eventually return to order..." He has taken on as Associates the two MARCASSUS Brothers from Tarbes, "who are here enjoying a good reputation..."
