MÉRODE MONTALEMBERT, Marie-Anne de Mérode (1818-1904) was the daughter of ComteFélix de MÉRODE, hero of Belgium's independence in 1830 and advisor to KingLéopold I of Belgium, and Rosalie de Grammont, whose father, theMarquis de Grammont, was one of the main shareholders of Avenir. On August 16, 1836, she married Charles Forbes René Comte de Montalembert, a French journalist, historian and politician - Letter A.S. written in Paris to a Countess asking her to send her children to play.
