Response from the Academy to his observations and practice in childbirth: Paris October 27, 1786 "... For example, when you were called in to complete a delivery in which the surgeon who had preceded you had torn off one of the child's arms, would it not have been more methodical, instead of extracting it in pieces, as you did, to complete the delivery by fetching the feet?..." + Letter signed Félix VICQ D'AZYR (Valognes 1748 - 1794), Physician and Anatomist, physician to Marie-Antoinette and Louis XVI (Sciences): March 1787, "I have placed before the eyes of the Royal Society of Medicine (your) letter... as well as your observations on an epidemic disease which reigns in Lauragais and its surroundings.
