Head of a young pharaoh. Tourah lithographic limestone. H 10 - Lot 193
Head of a young pharaoh. Tourah lithographic limestone. H 10.5cm. As it stands (shocks). Precious wood and metal veneer base. The king wears the crown of victory Khepresh and the uraeus. The almond-shaped eyes and fine lines evoke the refinement of the reign of Amenhotep III, or one of his immediate successors. The careful voluntary hammering could plead in favour of the young Amenhotep IV or Tutankhamun, his sons and grandsons dedicated to a "damnatio memoriae". Egypt. New Empire. Old Parisian collection before 1985
