Borotra, Roman. The crocodile of Béarnais by Robert Le Blant - Lot 94
Borotra, Roman. The crocodile of Béarnais by Robert Le Blant (1898-1972) is the most mysterious of sports novels. Published in 1934, 162 pages, it takes place in the world of tennis, but by the way it evokes the beginnings of running (jockeys), or the Buffalo velodrome. We recognize Borotra as Bernadicou and Lenglen as Benedettah (eagle beak nose, omnipresent father)... Alain Gerbault, Tom Potter or Lartigo are from this saraband that runs from Pau, Bayonne and Biarritz all over the world. High curiosity. Borotra was a bronze medalist in doubles in 1924. To compare the number of "Nos Champions" (4) in which Alain Bernard recounts his Borotra de Polytechnique, alias Ortabor (1955)
