César Marie, Marquis of TALARU and CHALMASEL, Count of CHAMARANDE (1725 -1794 ) Brigadier of the King's armies in 1748, became Governor of Strasbourg and Phalsbourg in July 1756, before taking part in the Menorca expedition. After the French victory, he was appointed second in command of the island of Menorca. After being made Camp Marshal in 1761, he became First Maitre d'Hotel of Queen Marie Antoinette, whose estates he administered in this capacity. Certificate signed on his letterhead engraved with his name and titles. Versailles (Château de) on 25 June 1768.
