EURE. Family PASSY & PÉAN DE SAINT-GILLES. More than 420 letters and coins from 1670 to 1892. Numerous documents on the region of GISORS (27). Private Archive of the PASSY family, originally from Thil, then from Etrépagny, near GISORS in EURE. The PASSY family experienced a rapid social rise from the end of the 18th century, and became famous during the 19th century, particularly in politics, economics and science. Louis François Passy (1760-1834), a lawyer, ensured his family's fortune, from the 1780s onwards, through his duties as Receiver General of Finance in SOISSONS (Aisne) and then in BRUSSELS under the Directory and the Empire. Cross-correspondence between these families, business letters, leases, leaseholds, learned societies, foundations, properties, chores, memoirs and invoices, letters from political and military personalities and 6 large volumes: Ledger A of 1821 (46 x 33 cm), Ledger C of 1825 (46 x 33 cm), Ledger E of 1829 (46 x 33 cm); Cash Book C of 1825 (43 x 29), "Book of accounts kept by Felix Passy from the death of Mr. Passy Sr. until the liquidation of Mrs. Passy Sr. July 2, 1843" and a Repertory of the Senators of 1876: are quoted: Duc de Broglie, Mgr Dupanloup, Oscar de La Fayette, Baron la Roncière le Noury, Victor Hugo, Comte de Tocqueville, Schœlcher, Wolowski,...................................................................................................................................................................
