Count Bertrand, with the 4th Corps... 40,000 strong, occupied the right bank in front of Cassel... All the rest of the army had crossed the Rhine. S.M. had signed, on the 7th, the reorganization of the Army... General Dulauloy had reorganized the 200 fire hydrants of the Guard.
