"From the minutes of February 14, 15 & 16, 1792, drawn up by the Municipality of the City of SIERCK... it results the most violent suspicions that Sieur SCHAPPE Officer Royal Grenadiers & LASSAUX former Brigadier of the above-mentioned Guards, are agents & accomplices of the enemies of the State, & traitors who are preparing to enter with armed hands into the bosom of their Homeland..."
