Dupuy Ant. - Lot 83
Dupuy Ant. Reunion from Brittany to France: Thesis for the doctorate. First edition, published in Brest, at the Imprimerie et lithographie Gadreau, in 1879. Covered with a half-basane binding with ribbed spine. A fairly well preserved copy: usual rubbing on the headdresses and on the spine. Hinge in good condition. Inside quite fresh with some light freckles. The union of Brittany and France was a political process that began in the late 1480s, following the Mad War, culminating on August 13, 1532 with the Edict of Nantes, sealing the annexation of the Duchy of Brittany by the Kingdom of France. This process continued until the French Revolution, which put an end to the autonomy of the province of Brittany by the suppression of its Parliament (forbidden to sit).
