Fail Noël du / Borderie Arthur de la - Lot 92
Fail Noël du / Borderie Arthur de la The rustic Christmas talk of the Fail. Pretty copy covered with a red half-marocco binding with corners and ribbed spine signed Loisellier. And published in Paris, by Alphonse Lemerre, in 1878. Well preserved copy: small rubbings of use on the headdresses and on the corners. Solid hinge. Fresh and freckless interior. Noël du Fail, Lord of La Hérissaye, born around 1520 in the family property of Château-Létard in Saint-Erblon (10 km south of Rennes), and died on July 7, 1591 in Rennes, is a Breton jurist, magistrate and writer. His work, both entertaining and serious, is an interesting account of rural society in Brittany in the 16th century.
