Covered with a full cloth binding from the publisher accompanied by a transparent rhodoïd. Published by Le Club Français du livre, in 1959. Well preserved copy. The Satyricon, also spelled Satiricon, the plural form "the Satyrica" is preferable, is a satirical novel written in Latin attributed, without absolute certainty, to Petronius. The novel, considered one of the first of world literature, mixes verse and prose, classical Latin and vulgar. It consists of a framework story (generally titled the "Adventures of Encolpe") and three embedded narratives: The Ephebe of Pergamos, The Matron of Ephesus and The Feast at Trimalcion, all intrigues to the vast literary posterity.
