ANJOU. 1586 - Antoine de SILLY Comte de LA ROCHEPOT (1540-1609), Lieutenant-General and Governor of ANJOU in 1585. In 1598, Henri IV went to Angers to prepare the Edict of NANTES. He was welcomed by the Governor of Anjou. Parchment (21 x 29.5 cm) signed on October 23rd 1586, with his name and titles. "Anthoine de SILLY damoiseau de Commercy, Sovereign Lord of Euville, Baron de Montmirail et Rosnay, Captain of 50 Hommes d'Armes of the King's Orders, Knight of His Order & Lieutenant General for His Majesty in the Duchy and Country of ANJOU." He receives 600 ECUs from the Treasurer Germain LE CHARRON for his pledges as Lieutenant-General in the Government of ANJOU, at the rate of 100 ECUs per month.
