"Art. 1) It will be established in the City of PARIS, a depository of the WEAPONS AND BLASONS, in which the Arms of his Majesty, those of the Queen & the Royal Family, those of the Princes and Princesses of blood, & generally those of all the Houses, Families & persons entitled to Coat of Arms ; as well as those of Provinces, Countries of States, Governors of Cities, Lands & Lordships; those of Archbishops, Bishoprics, Chapters, Abbeys, Priories & other benefits, Companies, Confraternities, Bodies & Communities having likewise the right of Coat of Arms, will be registered,.... the registered Coat of Arms will be patrimonial and hereditary..." - Read to the Assembly of the Marshals of France.
