Second work of the author after the sulphurous "Légende des sexes, poèmes hystériques et profanes", published under the pseudonym of "Sire de Chambley" in 1882. The Naked Soul is a book divided into two parts: The inner life The outer life. The first part includes: Laws, Cults, Forms; the second: Dawn, Noon, Evening. All or almost all the poems of this collection are dedicated to famous authors such as Guy de Maupassant, Sainte-Beuve, Leconte de Lisle, François Coppée, Jules Barbey d'Aurevilly, Octave Uzanne, Félicien Rops, etc...
