First edition printed on beautiful laid paper, enriched with a beautiful letter from the author to Gustave Chapon. Mardochée Jules Diaz de Soria (1843-1919) was a wine merchant in Bordeaux and a French amateur baritone. He was as well known in his day as if he were a professional musician, which he might well have been if he had chosen to abandon commerce for music. He chose to combine the two
