Cycling. Acatene. Poster. River. Huret. Stéphane. Tricolour - Lot 176
Cycling. Acatene. Poster. River. Huret. Stéphane. Tricolour flag. The champions of the Acatene (bicycle without chain but with cardan joint) are all French and can drape themselves in the tricolour flag. In the blue, Gaston Rivierre (1861-1942) from Asnières, winner of the Bol d'Or, and of Bordeaux-Paris 1896, in the white, Constant Huret (1870-1951) from Ressons, record holder of the 24 hours with 909km27, and in the red, the still mysterious Auguste Stéphane (1863-?) from Nancy, winner in 1898, of the 48h of Roubaix. Acatène is located on rue St Maur in Paris 11è, and when French cycling dominated the long distances, it was with this fabulous triplet. Kossuth lithograph. 94X129.
