Nasa. STS-96, the second assembly and resupply flight of the International Space Station (ISS), was launched on May 27, 1999, aboard the Orbiter Discovery for a nearly 10-day mission. In this STS-96 shipboard photo, Mission Specialist Tamara Jernigan carries part of the Russian construction crane. The Jernigans' feet are anchored to a mobile restraint connected to the Shuttle Remote Manipulator System (RMS).
