9 - FREEMASONRY. Prince AUGUSTE-FREDERIC DE SUSSEX (1773-1843), son of George III, favourite uncle of Queen Victoria. Large patent of appointment as Provincial Grand Master of Sumatra in 1825 in favour of Brother Henry Robert Lewis, large parchment (60.5 x 70 cm). The Prince signed at the top "Augustus Frederick", large dry seal of the Lodge, several other signatures of dignitaries. It was in 1813 that the Duke of Sussex became Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of England, the main Masonic obedience in England
