"Antoine-François DE BERTRAND DE MOLLEVILLE, Knight, Lord of Montesquieu, Volvestre, le Plan, Saint Cristaud, la Bastide, Molleville & other places, King's Counselor,... Intendant & Commissioner appointed by His Majesty for the execution of his orders in the Province of Brittany." (Header ., vignette with arms). Done in RENNES (35) on October 27, 1784. Order "On what was represented to us, that the Contractors of the repairs of the great ways, & mainly those of the Works of the Road from RENNES to VITRÉ, never have the care to leave a part of the way free & convenient for the passage of the cars; that on the contrary the road is cluttered with materials piled up without precaution, and that the excavations intended to receive the stonework, have a foot or 18 inches of fall; so that the cars which are obliged to pass on these encaissements run the risk of breaking, & that it even arrived several accidents caused by the negligence of the Contractors...” Let us order the Engineers of the Bridges & Roads, to hold the hand with the execution of the present Order... - Printed in RENNES, by the Widow François VATAR, Printer of the king and the parliament. 1784.
