Edgar QUINET, Historian and Writer, Deputy of the AIN in 184 - Lot 457
Edgar QUINET, Historian and Writer, Deputy of the AIN in 1848. (Bourg-en-Bresse 1803- Paris 1875) Autograph letter signed by VEYTAUX (He is in exile in Switzerland) 20 Dec. 1866. 2pp in-8°. "Yes, certainly dear sir and friend, I am very happy and touched by what you call the settlement of this little account. I recognize there a true friendship... I have used the words of your letter, almost verbatim. As for the proofs, I expect them in duplicate. Plain paper and peeling paper. I will keep the ordinary paper near the pen, & spare my eyes. I will also only have to transfer my corrections to the rough paper. Alas yes, I have made an irreparable mistake in Theophile DUFOUR. How much I need to feel close to me and with me the friends who remain to me! Dear Sir, Please be one of them, with all my heart. E. QUINET."
