Eugène GUILLAUME, Sculptor, Pupil of Pradier, Academy of Fin - Lot 460
Eugène GUILLAUME, Sculptor, Pupil of Pradier, Academy of Fine Arts, Acad. Fce, Professor then Director of the School of Fine Arts (1864/78), Director of the Villa Medici in Rome from 1890 (Montbard 1822 - 1905). Autograph letter signed, PARIS 27 February 1869 on the letterhead of the IMPERIAL & SPECIAL SCHOOL OF FINE ARTS - 1p in-8° - My dear Director. The notice I sent the other day is definitive: if there are any gaps in it I will be very grateful to you to have it filled in. The intention that the Superintendent has expressed to me is to have a marble taken directly to the Champs de Mars at the last moment. As for the COLBERT that is being bronzed at the moment, it can follow the same path. But if you prefer, as they are ready in about 20 days, I will send it to the Champs Élysées...
