NASA. LARGE FORMAT. Spectacular maintenance view of the HUBBLE space telescope. Astronaut John M. Grunsfeld, STS-109 payload commander, anchored to the end of Space Shuttle Columbia's Remote Manipulator System (RMS) robotic arm, walks toward the giant Hubble Space Telescope (HST) temporarily housed in the orbiter's cargo bay. Astronaut Richard M. Linnehan works in tandem with Grunsfeld during this fifth and final EVA session. Activities during this EVA focused on the camera and the Near Infrared Multi-Object Spectrometer (NICMOS) to install a cryogenic cooler and its cooling system heater. 2002. later chromogenic print.
