HÉRAULT. Signed letter of Jacques de CASTELNAU, bishop of SAINT-PONS, for the purchase of his provision of wine (September 25, 1577) "Procurator you made me great pleasure to give me notice of the state of my business of beyond... I beg you to buy me and arrange twenty pipes of wine of Gaillac to know ten of white and ten of clear that I will pay and will make bring of it being beyond...." (Jacques de Castelnau of Clermont-Lodève (died on September 11, 1586) is a clergyman who was bishop of Saint-Pons-de-Thomières from 1539 to 1586. Jacques de Castelnau was the son of Pierre, Lord of Clermont-Lodève, Lieutenant of the King in Languedoc and Marguerite de La Tour. His brother Guy was Sénéchal of Carcassonne. He obtained the Diocese of Saint Pons when his uncle Cardinal François Guillaume resigned it in his favour.
