Émilien, Comte de NIEUWERKERKE Sculptor and high civil servant, Superintendent of the BEAUX-ARTS of Napoleon III. Senator and General Councillor of the Aisne. Responsible for 4 Museums: The Louvre, Luxembourg, Versailles then St Germain en Laye, and the Organization of the Salon. He reformed the School of Fine Arts - (Paris 1811 - 1892) - Palais du LOUVRE 13 February 1867. Letter signed NIEUWERKERKE Superintendent of the BEAUX-ARTS, to M. DELAVILLE in PASSY. 1p in-4°. "You have kindly donated to the Museum a copy, perfectly executed, of one of the figures painted by RAPHAEL in the Room of Constantine in the Vatican.
