Lovell Jr. as commander; Thomas K. Mattingly, command module pilot, and Fred W. Naise Jr. lunar module pilot. The Apollo 13 mission was the third in the lunar program but did not see man walk on the Moon because of a material incident during the translunar flight that endangered the lives of the astronauts.
