Nasa. STS-96, the second assembly and resupply flight of the - Lot 205
Nasa. STS-96, the second assembly and resupply flight of the International Space Station (ISS), was launched on May 27, 1999, aboard the Orbiter Discovery for a nearly 10-day mission. In this STS-96 shipboard photo, Mission Specialist Tamara Jernigan carries part of the Russian construction crane. The Jernigans' feet are anchored to a mobile restraint connected to the Shuttle Remote Manipulator System (RMS). The astronauts are now real space mechanics doing all sorts of construction activities in the vacuum of space, giving rise to some impressive futuristic but very contemporary scenes. 1999. chromogenic print of the period. Caption on the back on a sheet of paper. 25,5 x 20,5cm with margins.
