Pierre Sylvain Maréchal is a French writer, poet and pamphleteer. Political activist, he was the companion of Gracchus Babeuf, precursor of communism. Wanting to free man from all servitude, Sylvain Maréchal, "the man without God", is undoubtedly one of the most fervent supporters of atheism during the Revolution.
