COURIER from Lyon - LESURQUE case. LAS dated "this 26th May" - Lot 101
COURIER from Lyon - LESURQUE case. LAS dated "this 26th May" signed Veuve d'Anjou: one page in-8. Emotional letter written by one of J. Lesurque's daughters, addressed to her doctor, and who died just after having sent her mail, according to her testimony. This information is given in a long handwritten note written by the owner of this letter. Born in Douai in 1763, J. Lesurques is one of the most famous victims of judicial errors. He was beheaded in Paris in 1796 for the murder and robbery of the postman and the mail of the Malle de Lyon, crimes he had probably never committed. His wife and one of his daughters went mad. His second daughter (the author of this letter) committed suicide when she learned of the postponement of her father's rehabilitation.
