Bound in full cypress green morocco, large incised and stained leather set on each cover signed by Charles MEUNIER, [19]10, representing on the 1st, a composition of arms: sabre, bow and arrows, swords, axe, maces of arms, with two decapitated men's heads in a decoration of thistle leaves, and on the 2nd, a decapitated and bloody head in the centre, between two thistle leaves with axe, sword and sword in the background, spine with two double nerves underlined by cold fillets extending on the boards with mosaic fleuron in the centre, inner frame in the same morocco decorated with three gilt fillets with gilt fleurons in the corners, iridescent moire lining and endpapers, double marbled paper endpapers, all edges gilt, covers and spine preserved. Ebony morocco spine cover with mosaic fleuron and flaps, matching lined case. Binding signed and dated by Charles MEUNIER, 1910. Illustrated edition with 41 etchings by Luc-Olivier MERSON including vignette on cover, frontispiece, 39 in-text or headpieces. Printed at 289 numbered copies. 1 of 25 on Japon including in addition to the final state of the etchings, 3 additional states, bound in-fine: state before the letter, state with remarks, pure etching with remarks.
