Aviation / Raid Paris-Tokyo / Pelletier d'Oisy / Racing. Sev - Lot 21
Aviation / Raid Paris-Tokyo / Pelletier d'Oisy / Racing. Seven original press photos (11x16) of the 1924 record-breaking raid between Paris and Tokyo (19,600 km, 20 stages) carried out by the Auscitain Georges Pelletier-d'Oisy (1892-1953) and his mechanic Lucien Besin aboard a Breguet 19, with a Lorraine-Dietrich engine (400hp), named Jacqueline. Here, we are in Bach Mai (Hanoi), on May 12, 1924, it is a very successful stage. We discover the landing, the reception, the hangars, two aircrafts, the crowd dressed up... Nicknamed Pivolo, the hero of this record-breaking raid was also a former rugby player of the Racing team and an ace of 14-18. Rare.
