Nasa. Rare view of the Rangers VII probe before it is capped - Lot 20
Nasa. Rare view of the Rangers VII probe before it is capped. The Rangers VII probe is designed to be propelled onto the lunar surface before crashing. A complex system was set up 15 minutes before the impact with the ground to take pictures using television cameras that sent their images to Earth via radio waves. The Rangers missions are the first missions to provide Man with close-up views of the lunar soil and to allow him to have an idea of the reality of the lunar soil. July 23, 1964. Vintage silver print. Nasa logo and typed caption on the back. 25,8 x 20,5cm with margins.
