BOMBARDMENT OF ANTWERP. - Manuscript 5pp in-folio, signed "LECOR" the Engineer of the Department - ANTWERP March 20, 1814 - "Précis on the Bombardment of ANTWERP by the Army of the Allies, Commanded by General GRAHAM during the days of February 3,4 and 5, 1814, Defended by Mr. Major General CARNOT, Governor of the Place of ANTWERP." - "... the French forces were composed solely of the garrison of Antwerp, the troops of the Navy, including the sailors, forming in total a Corps of about 18,000 Men, commanded by Mr. Admiral MISSIESSY for the Navy, and by Generals MAISON and ROGUET for the Army of the Line... Mr. Governor CARNOT was particularly busy increasing the means of defense of the place... It is estimated that during the three days of the Bombardment the enemy launched more than 2,000 projectiles of various calibers, both on the naval army and on the city... the enemy's loss during these three days was 400 men killed and a greater number wounded..." - Attached: various letters and papers relating to the LECOR family.
