(ROCHEBONNE) Autograph letter signed The Marquis of ROCHEBONNE, to the Postmaster of PIERRELATTE, to make hold to Mr. De SERRE Royal Bailiff of ST PAUL in PIERRELATTE (Address, wax seal with the arms of the Marquis, broken at the opening), of LYON the 29 May (1695): "I arrived icy since five or six days". He sends him a power of attorney to finish the affair of Baumes " ...for this affair I send you a bill so that you have the goodness to make count six hundred livres of the money that the farmer owes me according to the memorandum that I send you..." to make him condemn. Charles François, Marquis de ROCHEBONNE, (died in 1725) married, in 1668, Thérèse d'Adhémar de Grignan, sister-in-law of the daughter of Madame de Sévigné. He transformed the house into a pleasure castle. In her letters, Madame de Sévigné, who went several times to Rochebonne, nicknamed Thérèse "the beautiful Rochebonne". The castle of Rochebonne is an old fortified house, rebuilt in the 15th century and reworked in the 17th century, which stands on the town of Theizé in the Rhône department and the Rhône-Alpes region.
