REBELLION of MARSEILLE (13), 1795. General LECLERC (Victor-Emmanuel) Pontoise 1772 - St Domingue 1802; General; Husband of Pauline BONAPARTE; Great peacemaker of St Domingue. He obtained the submission of Toussaint Louverture in 1802. Autograph signed "LECLERC", at the bottom of a Placard, for true copy, Adjutant-General LECLERC commanding the Place of MARSEILLE in a state of siege. "The MILITARY COUNCIL of the Place of MARSEILLE", on 22 Frimaire year 4 (13 Dec. 1795), declares that the Citizen SALUS, native of Tarascon (13), TAMBOUR in subsistence in the Battalion of the GRENADIERS, accused of having stolen a pair of shoes from one of his comrades, condemned him to 4 YEARS OF FERS.
