ORLÉANS (Louis, Duke of CHARTRES, then Duke of) VERSAILLES August 4, 1703 - Paris 1752 - Son of Philippe d'Orléans, known as Le Régent. He entered the Councils (1718) and became Governor of Dauphiné (1719), Colonel General of the Infantry (1721) and Head of the Council of State. The death of his wife, the Princess of Bade, plunged him into a deep melancholy (1742). He retired to the Abbey of Sainte-Geneviève, where he devoted himself to theological studies. He had a Son Louis Philippe Duc d'ORLÉANS : Signed document "LOUIS D'ORLÉANS" with his name and titles as Governor and Lieutenant-General of Dauphiné - He established the Sieur PERROY DE MURCY in the Charge of Captain in the Regiment of Infantry of MONTFORT.
