NASA. LARGE FORMAT. HUBBLE TELESCOPE. This beautiful galaxy - Lot 226
NASA. LARGE FORMAT. HUBBLE TELESCOPE. This beautiful galaxy is the product of a collision between two disk galaxies that began 300 million years ago. It illustrates the intermediate stages of the merger process: the disks of the parent galaxies have merged, but the nuclei have not yet merged. It shows a strange looking tail of stars and a prominent dust band that runs diagonally across the center of the image and obscures the galaxy. NGC 520 is one of the brightest galaxy pairs in the sky, and can be observed with a small telescope towards the constellation of Pisces, Pisces, looking like a comet. It is about 100 million light years away and about 100,000 light years in diameter. The pair of galaxies is included in Arp's catalog of special galaxies as Arp 157. 2008.Vintage chromogenic print. Numbering in the margin on the front. Legend on label on back. 40.6 X 40.6CM with margins. NASA. LARGE FORMAT. Hubble Telescope. This beautiful galaxy is the product of a collision between two disc galaxies that started 300 million years ago. It illustrates the intermediate steps of the melting process: the mother galaxies discs have merged, but the nuclei have not merged. It has a strange stars tail and a prominent dust band that flows in diagonally the center of the image and obscures the galaxy. NGC 520 is one of the brightest galaxy couples of the sky, and can be observed with a small telescope towards the constellation of the fish, the fish, having the appearance of a comet. It is about 100 million light-years away and about 100,000 light-years in diameter. The pair of galaxies is included in the Catalog of Special Galaxies of ARP under the name of ARP 157. 2008. The chromogenic period. Numbering in the margin on the front. Legend on label on the back. 40.6 x 40.6cm with margins. NASA. Breites Format. Teleskop Hubble. It illustrates the different characteristics of the Schmelzvorgangs: The Muttergalaxienscheiben are combined, but the Kerne are not combined.
