OMEGA For the Canadian railroads White metal pocket watch with mechanical movement. - Round white metal case, smooth bezel, fluted crown, round bezel, officer's back with engraving of a steam locomotive. - White enamel dial, railroad minute track and large Roman numerals painted in black, blued steel "bar" pear hands, oversized small seconds at 6 o'clock. Case, dial and movement signed. Movement: mechanical with manual winding. Movement not numbered Case numbered 4.242.245 (circa 1908) Diameter: 58 mm Like Zenith and other manufacturers, Omega delivered between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, numerous watches for the railways of several countries throughout the world. With their large numerals, "railroad" minute track and precise movements, these pocket watches, often decorated with locomotives, were very popular A similar model can be found in the Omega Museum at Biel under the reference 2029 (page 208).
