It is known today, to simplify, that the military during this conflict imposed the watch - bracelet to equip their troops. Omega Museum curator Marco Richon explains in more detail the advent of wristwatches and their history. Although the first wristwatches were made in France as early as the 16th century, they were more the result of jewelers integrating watch movements into rings or cuffs, often adorned with precious stones or enamel, for the royal and imperial courts of the time. For the series production, it is another manufacture of La Chaux-de-Fonds which carried out a series of 2000 wristwatches for the German Imperial Navy: Girard-Perregaux. A similar model (with radium hands) is referenced in the Omega Museum in Biel under the reference 3289 (page 109). Condition report: Good general condition, cracks and hair on the dial, wear scratches and patina on the case, the watch works at the time of the expertise, without guarantee of functioning over time, a service recommended.
