NASA. Rare. First historical zenithal photograph of the ground of the planet MARS realized by the space probe MARINER 4 on July 15, 1965. Until the arrival of the space probe MARINER 4, scientists thought they could discover vegetation on the Martian soil. This was definitely contradicted by the reception of the images of the first flight of the planet MARS by a human space probe. Vintage "WIRE PHOTO" print. Press caption on the back.
