Nasa. LARGE FORMAT. Apollo 11 mission. Rare. Historical phot - Lot 75
Nasa. LARGE FORMAT. Apollo 11 mission. Rare. Historical photograph. In front of the American flag, the silhouette of the man working on the driote of the image near the scientific tools storage cabinet of the lunar module "Eagle" is the only image of astronaut Neil Armstrong on the lunar ground. Indeed, astronaut Buzz Aldrin is the only man to have been photographed on the lunar ground during the two and a half hours of the "moon walk" of the Apollo 11 mission crew. Some claimed that Buzz Aldrin was "avenged" for not having been chosen to be the one who put the first step on the Moon. This was not possible because Buzz Aldrin was not a civilian but a military man. It is only later that this photograph was identified as being that of Neil Armstrong whose only known appearance on the moon was that of his reflection in the most famous photograph of the space conquest: the one of the "visor" where his silhouette is reflected in Buzz Aldrin's helmet. 20 July 1969. Numbering on the front. Legend on the back label. 40,6 x 40,6CM with margins.
