NASA. View from Earth. Superb bird's eye view of the famous Gilbraltar Strait observed from Space aboard the space shuttle Discovery (Mission STS-39). The only exit from the Mediterranean Sea. This mythical sea has been dried up several times between 5 and 20 million years ago. On the left the south of Spain, the dark part is the delta of the river Guadalquivir with the city of Seville. The Sierra Nevada mountain range is covered with snow. On the right, Morocco and North Africa. 1991. 1991 chromogenic print on paper: "KODAK". NASA logo and numbering on the front.
