HARLAY DE CHAMPVALLON (François de) Archbishop of PARIS in 1670 (Paris 1625 - 1805). Louis XV had great confidence in him and put him in charge of all the affairs concerning the Regular Clergy. François de Harlay was one of the main instigators of the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes. He celebrated the secret marriage of Louis XIV with Mrs. de Maintenon - Printed piece in his name " Franciscus " Archbishop, Duke and Peer of France, Proviseur of the Sorbonne " with important signature. From François de Harlay : " F. Archiepiscopus Parisiensis " dated PARIS February 1, 1686 - Certificate of fidelity to the Catholic Apostolic and Roman Church and for the excommunication of heretics, given to a Vicar - (in Latin, text to be confirmed).
