LORRAINE / Rare merchant's patent of the Duchy of Lorraine, on vellum (36 x 24,5 cm), with silk ribbon inserted, bearing a dry seal under serrated paper, with inked stamp "Lorraine et Barrois": On the letterhead of the "Juges Consuls de Lorraine et Barrois", this patent is given in Nancy on March 12, 1766 and is signed by Charpentier (First Judge), Oudinot (Lieutenant), Villiez, Pierrot and Aubert (Consuls) - Joseph Pallot, native of Lunéville, was presented by Sieur Lelong dit Derivage, Master Merchant in Nancy, who certified that the aforementioned Pallot was of Catholic, apostolic and Roman religion and of good life and morals, Joseph Pallot presented on the other hand his patent of training and supplemented with the various required duties, He is thus received Merchant of the Duchy of Lorraine and this quality it allows him to hold open store and to enter the Body of the Merchants
