Nasa. LARGE FORMAT. Apollo 11 mission. Rare. Historic photog - Lot 80
Nasa. LARGE FORMAT. Apollo 11 mission. Rare. Historic photograph. For only half an hour, Neil Armstrong became the first human to walk on the moon. He was quickly followed by his teammate Buzz Aldrin and the two men immediately began deploying the various scientific instruments to study the lunar environment. The first photographs of Neil Armstrong were those of a 360° panoramic of the lunar surface carried out as soon as it had put the foot on the Moon. This, in order to preserve a precise scientific trace of the lunar landscape in case, an emergency would have justified the immediate departure of the lunar module. Once Buzz Aldrin was, in his turn on the Moon, the two men put themselves at work. This photograph is thus the first that Neil Armstrong realized of Buzz Aldrin. Therefore, it is the first historical image of a human silhouette on an extraterrestrial body. The instrument that Buzz Aldrin deploys is a solar wind measuring instrument of which a part will be brought back to Earth to analyze the particles deposited on it during the mission. July 20, 1969.later chromogenic print. Numbering on the front. Legend on the back label. 40,6 x 40,6CM with margins.
