Cycling/Cornet/Pritt. Nice new humorous card from 1907, sign - Lot 94
Cycling/Cornet/Pritt. Nice new humorous card from 1907, signed by the mysterious and talented Pritt. He has sketched here, Henri Cornet, winner of the 1904 Tour, on late declassification of the first four. Nicknamed "Rigolo" or "The Engineer", Henri Jardry-Cornet (1884-1941) was an astute and talented rider, also winner of the 1906 Paris-Roubaix. The youngest winner of the Tour, he became a fabulous bicycle maker in Prunay-le-Gillon. His favorite prank: electrifying the zinc of his café... A hoax that Blondin would not have disavowed, even if he preferred zinc when he was driving from friendship. To know more about this phenomenon, you can get the excellent book of Claude Lange.
