NASA LARGE FORMAT. On July 20, 1969, for the first time in t - Lot 89
NASA LARGE FORMAT. On July 20, 1969, for the first time in the history of human civilization, two men set foot on extraterrestrial soil with the APOLLO 11 mission. In the name of all mankind, America conquered the Moon, an age-old dream since the beginning of time. The American Star Spangled Banner is the first human flag to be flown on the Moon. This historic photograph will remain forever engraved in the marble of the book of human history. By photographing the astronaut Buzz Aldrin standing in front of the American flag, Neil Armstrong immortalized one of the most important moments of the human space adventure. A symbol of conquest, the American flag thus becomes the proudest banner of a people that has never stopped pushing back and erasing borders since its creation. Astronaut Buzz Aldrin's face turned towards Neil Armstrong is clearly visible through the viewfinder. This is the first time a human face has been photographed on living, breathing alien soil thanks to the fabulous American space technology. This large format vintage print is exceptional and rare. Very few of these photographs have been preserved to this day. Intended for the personalities of the American space program or the first rank political leaders, they were produced to be exposed in the offices of these personalities and were not the subject of a conservation procedure. They were therefore, for the most part, destroyed starting in the late 1970's as the excitement of the celebration of Man's first step on the Moon was assimilated by society. They are now, at the time of the real entry of the Humanity in the new space age, hunted in the whole world by the collectors and the museum institutions. Vintage chromogenic print on "A KODAK PAPER" paper. 50.2 x 40.3CM.
