Marshal ROCHAMBEAU (Jean Baptiste Donatien de Vimeur de) Vendôme 1725 - 1807. General in 1761. Marshal of France in 1791. Commander of the French Troops in America in 1780 - Certificate of services, on the letterhead of the Infantry Regiment of DAUPHIN, of the named Nicolas DESDOUCHE said Nicolas Sergeant of the Company of grenadiers of Manneville, having served faithfully the King during the space of 29 years to the aforementioned regiment of which four in quality of Sergeant of Grenadiers. He asks to retire to BLAMONT in Lorraine. Done in POITIERS on July 8, 1772. Document signed the Duke of LA VAUGUYON, LEAUTAUD and VEDEL. Certificate approved and signed by the Count of ROCHAMBEAU, as Marshal of Camp, Inspector of Infantry. 1 page in-folio. Wax stamp of the regiment. Fading.
